The Astor Theatre is hiring a Summer Student Theatre Attendant

(Full-Time Seasonal Employment)

The iconic Astor Theatre is Nova Scotia’s oldest continuously running performing arts theatre, and one of only two independent movie houses in the province.

Job Description:  Your main responsibilities will be to provide program support, including workshops, summer camps, concerts, and art gallery shows. Provide box office support, including in-person and telephone ticket sales, concession sales, and community promotion. This includes the use of ticketing software, point-of-sale technology, and the balancing of accounts at day’s end. You will be required to run the movie projector, as required. You will also provide customer service to patrons and the general public and lead tours of the building (national historic site).

Requirements and Qualifications: To apply for this job, you must:

• Be aged between 16 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
• Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
