Rent a stunning, one-of-a-kind space for your special event. The Astor Theatre and Arts Center, a national historic site, retains the early 20th century splendor of the former Liverpool Town Hall and Opera building, with many state-of the-art additions and amenities for events, meetings, workshops, rehearsals, art shows, and much more. Available for rental are the beautiful Grand Lobby and Lounge on the main level, and, on the second level, the well-appointed Gorham Room, Art Gallery, and Workshop with a sink. Only the main level spaces are currently fully accessible.

The iconic Astor Theatre is also available for rental.

The magnificent Astor Theatre, once the Liverpool Opera House, and Nova Scotia’s oldest continuously operating live performance venue, is available for private events, including performances and movies. Rental for the theatre and stage is by the hour. Technical support is available if needed.

GRAND LOBBY
Main Level
The stunning Grand Lobby features wood floors, coffered ceilings, a grand split staircase with antique globe lights, and one of the original vault doors, making it an ideal one-of-a-kind space for special events. Once serving as the former Town Hall, the space connects to the Lounge and the Astor Theatre and bar, and upstairs to the Art Gallery, Astor balcony and meeting rooms.

LOUNGE
Main Level
The perfect space for smaller events, gatherings, presentations and art show openings, the Lounge is a large room with wood floors and a selection of small and large tables, and padded stools. This is also the location of our Special Premises licensed bar. The gallery is equipped with a rail and wire hanging system for hanging artwork.

GORHAM ROOM
2nd Level
Located upstairs, the magnificent Gorham Room is the historic Liverpool Townhall Council Chambers. This stunning space is suitable for performances, rehearsals, meetings, classes, music lessons, and parties. The large, carpeted room features four windows letting in plenty of natural light and features our mini grand piano.

ART GALLERY
2nd Level
Our main art gallery, the Upper Gallery features two large windows and an adjoining door with access to the Gorham Room, making it perfect for meetings, rehearsals, and club gatherings. The gallery is equipped with a hanging rail and wire system and a large glass display cabinet for displaying artwork.
