Lunenburg Doc Fest – How To Build A Library

Lunenburg Doc Fest is Atlantic Canada’s leading documentary festival and forum that runs from September 17—21, 2025.  This year, they will be holding a special screening of the film, How To Build A Library, on September 21st at 4pm.

In Kenya’s bustling capital Nairobi, two visionary young women set out to reclaim a colonial-era library once reserved for whites only. Their goal is to transform it into a vibrant cultural center for a new generation of young Africans. Along the way, they must navigate local politics, raise millions for the rebuild, and confront the lingering ghosts of Kenya’s colonial past. Bursting with charm and purpose, this delightful film celebrates youth activism, cultural rebirth, and the real work of decolonisation. – LP
