Gifts to the Astor Theatre Society (ATS) Endowment Fund are investments in the long-term sustainability and positive impact of the Astor Theatre. As the gem of our community, The Astor connects us with arts and culture and is a driver for the Queens hospitality economy, we all benefit from a strong Astor. So how do we protect our cultural gem for future generations?

The Astor depends on five important sources of income to carry on operations: revenue from the sale of tickets, operating or project grants from all three levels of government, sponsorship contributions from businesses, donations from individuals and grants from foundations. Aggregate donations received directly from individuals are the most important source of stable funding. The ATS Endowment Fund is an important supplement to this giving, with a portion of earnings on its invested assets providing a meaningful annual income to the Astor.

Our aim is to significantly grow the ATS Endowment Fund to ensure long-term financial stability of the Astor while weathering economic cycles.

To contribute, you can donate in any of the usual ways, and mark your donation as “Endowment Fund”:

• Mail cheque to: Astor Theatre Society, P.O. Box 1148, Liverpool, NS B0T 1K0, or come in and visit!
• Contribute in person with cash or card.
• Contribute over the phone with a credit card.
• Email your donation to: bookkeeper@astortheatre.ns.ca – include your name and mailing address in the message section when transferring.

We can also receive donations of securities – please contact us at endowment@astortheatre.ns.ca and an Endowment representative will follow up with appropriate information, forms and instructions.

Planned Gifts and Curtain Call Society
Bequests offer Astor supporters with a pathway to ensure a strong and stable future for the Astor Theatre.

The Curtain Call Society includes individuals who have designated the Astor Theatre as a beneficiary of their estate and have taken the step of advising the Astor Theatre Society of their intention to make a bequest. With permission, Curtain Call names will be included in our Curtain Call Society list, signaling support of the mission of the ATS Endowment Fund, and by extension, the Astor Theatre. This leadership is greatly appreciated.
