Following the loss of the Bridgewater Cineplex, The Lunenburg County Film Series will be hosted this season at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool. No season passes; individual tickets can be bought at the door in cash or electronically. Ticket prices are $10 including HST.

48 Hours to write, film and edit your way to Filmapalooza and Cannes!
The 9th edition of the international filmmaking competition, 48 Hour Film Project, takes place in Atlantic Canada on 23-25 August, online. 76 short films were made in the last 8 editions/weekends, and 13 teams in PEI, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and New Brunswick have already registered to make a 4-7mins film in only one weekend! This is a once-a-year opportunity, open to amateurs and professionals.
All films will Premiere on 22 September, Sunday,1:30 pm at ASTOR Theatre, Liverpool, Nova Scotia and online. The BEST film will receive $1,000 prize from Tidekite and will compete internationally at Filmapalooza with a chance for the prestigious Cannes. The Audience will also vote for their favorite film for the Audience Award.
Best 48 Hour Films in Atlantic Canada have screened and competed internationally at Filmapalooza in Lisbon, Hollywood, Paris, Rotterdam, Orlando, Seattle & Washington. The Atlantic Canada 48 Hour filmmakers who attended Filmapalooza have participated in screenings, workshops and other industry events, highly valuing the experience, learning, network and a good time.
