The Astor Theatre Society Board of Directors is pleased the announce the appointment of four Directors who will be filling vacancies left by the recent departure of Board members. These appointments will be for the remainder of the term of the vacated positions. The three most recent appointments have been made following a call for nominations and a vetting process.

Please join us in welcoming the following new Directors:

Heather White Brittain

Heather is a professional in the performing arts industry. She is passionate about expanding genuine relationships and connecting cause and values that are inclusive, diverse and equitable. She has closed lead gifts for major capital campaigns, managed a $3,000,000 capital campaign with Imperial Theatre and subsequent capital campaigns of $1,800,000, $800,000 and $2,800,000. Previously, she worked on the early stages of the Greater Saint John Y’s $22,000,000 capital campaign and facilitated introductions and meetings to secure a lead gift of $1,500,000. Heather is excited to lend her talents to contributing to the continued success of the Astor, a “best kept secret on the South Shore”. Heather was nominated for Most Powerful Women Atlantic Canada 2024 Awards.

Willo Treschow

Willo is an artisan who has a long history of working on or with Not for Profit and Charitable Organization Boards. She was employed by the English National Ballet, UK and the National Ballet of Canada. She has served on Boards such as the WP Graham Community Resources Society, BC, the Weston-Super-Mare Arts Festival, UK and the Healing Hands Society, UK. She is currently on the Board of the Privateer Farmers and Artisans Market in Liverpool. She is passionate about the arts and excited about contributing to the success and growth of the Astor.

Dan Williams

Dan has a long history of volunteering with the Winds of Change Dramatic Society and has served on local community Boards such as the Queens County Blades and the Queens Venturers. He brings a varied skill set to the Board including expertise in IT/technology, marketing and communications, videography, photography, television production, and strength in technical theatre. Dan has a love of the arts, feels at home in the Astor space and “wants to give back” in contributing to the Astor’s long-term success.

Colleen Wolfe

We welcome Colleen back to the board after an 18-month hiatus. She was on the board for more than 10 years most recently as treasurer and is well known to patrons and staff. She was recognized by The Region of Queens as the Ripple Effect Volunteer Nominee for January 2019. Among other things her tireless efforts in organizing and running both the bar operations and weekly Chase the Ace draws brought in much needed revenue to the theatre. As a life long active resident of Liverpool, Colleen brings an historical perspective of both the Region and the Astor Theatre operations.

Please join us for the Astor Theatre Society AGM. The AGM provides an opportunity for members to hear about the successes and challenges of the Society and to provide feedback and suggestions to the Board of Directors moving forward.

The meeting package, including agenda, minutes, reports of the board of directors and the financial statements, will be distributed to all members ahead of the meeting.
