The Creator of the Hampsterdance…
Deidre LaCarte aka Delchinii started out as a potter/sculptor at Vancouver Island University in 1998, where she also created the Hampsterdance.
A car accident, with hand injuries, changed the direction of her art to abstract paintings. Using a limited palate the acrylic paint is applied randomly. Then intuitive pareidolia happens with acrylic paint markers.
Faces, landscapes, small pictures with the larger pieces that tell their own story.
We are excited to have Delchinii as our Artist in Residence from June 5th to June 14th and her show will be on display in The Astor Gallery from June 5th to 28th.

Join The Spotlight Guild for their original who-done-it mystery, “And Then There Were None Left Unbroken.”
Nine famous artists have been invited to a Golden Island for the weekend by a mysterious art collector who tells them he will purchase one of their art pieces for more money than they could ever imagine. When the artwork starts getting vandalized the group must work together to find out who is behind this mystery before it is too late…
You have 4 opportunities to see this hilarious show: June 20th at 7 pm, June 21st at 2 pm & 7 pm, and June 22nd at 3 pm. Each performance will have its own unique twist as the characters will be played by different performers each night. You won’t want to miss any of these performances.
Seating for the show is general admission with a suggested donation of $10 per person.
