Are you ready for some fun science? Our Special Event, “Spin, Pop, Boom” is all about awesome experiments! You will witness amazing feats of chemistry as we explore all sorts of spectacular reactions. You will marvel at our demonstrations as we investigate the clues of chemical reactions and spew massive columns of foam with the use of our catalysts! So, get ready to be amazed while you learn, because at Mad Science, all education is entertaining!

This Canadian prog-trad quintet alchemizes Scottish, Irish, and Nordic folk traditions and post rock influences into a sound with striking clarity. It’s ethereal yet precise, technical yet visceral. Aerialists emerged from the new acoustic scene at Berklee College of Music nearly a decade ago, born from the creative affinity between harpist Màiri Chaimbeul, fiddler Elise Boeur, and guitarist Adam Iredale-Gray. Now with three albums, a JUNO nomination, and a Canadian Folk Music Award under their belt, Aerialists have staked their claim on the leading edge of the neo-folk world.

Join two-time JUNO Award-winning Oji-Cree artist Aysanabee (Ace-in-abbey) on his first-ever Canadian headlining tour, Now and Then. After supporting Allison Russell and Dan Mangan on tour and performing at global festivals, Aysanabee now takes center stage to share his music (including hit singles “Nomads” and “Somebody Else”) and storytelling.
The alternative indie artist, of Sucker Clan from the Sandy Lake First Nation, a remote fly-in community in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, now calls Toronto home. He began making music under his mother’s maiden name, creating work that reflects his personal journey. In March 2024, he became the first Indigenous artist to win JUNO Awards for Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for his EP Here and Now (Oct 2023). His debut album, Watin (Nov 2022), named after his grandfather, combined music and journalism with artistry and expression and was shortlisted for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize.
Since 2021, he has performed over 300 shows across Canada and globally, including recent appearances at Reeperbahn (DE), The Great Escape (UK), SXSW Sydney (AUS), Tallinn Music Week (ES), and AmericanaFestUK (GB).

Shortly after moving to Toronto from Dartmouth in late 2001, Andrew made an appearance on Open Mic with Mike Bullard. After winning the Laugh Resort’s funniest person with a day job competition in Toronto, Andrew was invited to perform at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. He has since performed at the Halifax Comedy Fest, on Much Music’s hit show, Video on Trial and has his own half hour special that aired nationally on CTV and the Comedy Network. Andrew’s sharp and often biting observations will have you laughing at him, at yourself and at the world around you.

Originally from the west coast, Ian Black went against the traffic and moved east to Halifax, where he fell in with the wrong crowd and was pressured into trying standup. Since then, he has been voted Halifax’s Funniest, reached the semi-finals in SiriusXM’s nation-wide Top Comic competition, appeared twice at CBCTV’s Halifax Comedy Fest, and broadcast on CBC radio’s LOL. From theatres and clubs to retirement home dining rooms and boardwalk bandshells, Ian is a favourite across the Maritimes and has opened for such varied acts as Bob Saget, Tig Notaro, and Doug Stanhope

Old Man Luedecke is the recording name of two time JUNO award winning and Polaris prize nominated singer songwriter Chris Luedecke. A multiple East Coast Music Award winner known for his high energy banjo driven stompers, touching guitar ballads and dry humorous stories, Luedecke has been making a soundtrack to an authentic life for nearly twenty years.Born in Toronto and long time resident of the country near Chester Nova Scotia, Luedecke began recording in the early 2000’s DIY folk scene of Halifax. He made his two JUNO winning albums for Black Hen Music in the late 00s with Steve Dawson as producer at Vancouver’s famed Factory studio. While on a tour of England in 2009, he met and supported folk roots legend Tim O’Brien who produced Luedecke’s next two albums. Tender is the Night was recorded at John’s Prine’s Butcher Shoppe Studio in Nashville in 2012 and 2015’s Domestic Eccentric was recorded in a cabin Luedecke built himself at his home in NS. 2019 saw Luedecke recording Easy Money at both the Banff Centre in Alberta and at Hotel2Tango in Montreal.Songs like “I Quit My Job” at the beginning of his career and “The Early Days” at the beginning of his family and dozens of other fan favourites trace a warm line of effort, sadness and joy and provide a soundtrack to many peoples’ own progress through adulthood, touching a rare place of truth and charm in the holiness of the mundane.
