Help! (The Beatles Revisited) @ The Astor Theatre Liverpool
Sep 14 @ 7:30 pm
Help! is the definitive Beatles Live Experience, and is by far the most popular Beatles tribute act in Canada. Founded in 1999, the group has performed more than 850 shows on multiple continents, including concert events at casinos, concert halls and theatres in Canada, the Caribbean, USA, St. Maarten, Panama and Mexico. Their marquee appearances include performing shows at the Bell Centre (Montreal), Place des Art, La Maison Symphonic, the Montreal F1 Grand Prix, and for corporate clients such as Pratt & Whitney, Merck, Ernst and Young and Bombardier.
The Beatles repertoire attracts an audience from multiple generations of Beatles fans, most of whom know the songs and the lyrics and sing-a-long throughout the show.
The fab four members of HELP! pay close attention to detail; the tone of the voices, stunning three-part harmonies, the exact guitar, drum, keyboard and left-handed bass parts, the custom tailored grey and black suits, the Sgt-Pepper and Abbey Road outfits, the hair, the instruments – It all has to look and sound as Beatle-like as possible.
The HELP! Show is guaranteed to ensure that everyone in the audience has a fantastic time, and goes home feeling like they’ve lived that “Beatles in concert” experience. Audiences are usually on their feet dancing and singing along, and leave the event with lasting memories!

Lucy MacNeil @ The Astor Theatre Liverpool
Sep 25 @ 7:30 pm

Lucy MacNeil brings her trio to The Astor for a show that takes you to the heart of Cape Breton.

Lucy has been performing with the Barra MacNeils for 35 years. They come from a long tradition of Cape Breton music and dance that has been the foundation of creative pursuits over their musical career.

Alongside her brothers, she has travelled all over Europe, the United States, Barbados and throughout Canada from Fogo Island to Iqualuit.

The Barras recorded their first self titled album in 1986 and have continued making music, touring, and recording throughout the years. During the 1990s they were signed with record label Poly Dor and opened for Celine Dion, Kenny Rogers, and were special guests on two of Rita MacNeil’s Christmas Specials.

Lucy began working on her solo career during the pandemic, when time presented itself. She felt in those uncertain times, she wanted to leave something behind of herself and her lifetime attachment to traditional music and song.

In 2019 he released the follow up No Rest for the Wicked, including “Salvation” and “Dark Beside the Dawn”. With his latest full-length, Concertos & Serenades, Adam Baldwin – born and raised “inside these imaginary lines” that denote Nova Scotia – offers an east coast testimony that challenges the typical tourism marketing gloss.
