Come out to the Astor Theatre for a fun filled evening making needle felted hearts in time for Valentine’s Day. Willo Treschow will teach you how to make and embellish hearts and you will create your own work of art on a heart. Or two.
Join Kalen Roblee on February 17th from 12-2pm or 3-5pm at the Town Hall Arts & Cultural Centre for this wonderful workshop.
In this session, Kalen will teach you the techniques used to create this peaceful forest scene.
All painting materials are provided, as well as a light snack!

Participants will learn the basics of polymer clay – softening, rolling and cutting to create a flower cane. Students can exchange with each other to make a pendant from the mix of flowers.
A pendant and keychain will be made.

Ponderosa Pine Needle Basket Workshop with Willo Treschow
@ Town Hall Arts & Cultural Centre
Let Willo Treschow guide you through the process of creating one of these tiny baskets as she shares the pine needle weaving skills she learned during her time in BC.
The needles used in the workshop are from the Ponderosa Pine found in the interior of British Columbia; a long-needle pine that is stronger than our native Nova Scotian pines.
Celebrate the return of spring and learn the traditional art of pine needle basket weaving!
Registrations open now – $60 per participant – all materials included.

March Break arts and crafts workshops for kids
@ The Astor Theatre
This March Break we will once again be hosting our neighbour Scot Slessor of SAS Glass for a series of the always popular stained glass workshops for youth, and for the first time, Chris DeWolf, who will be creating pendants and keychains from polymer clay!
Details below. Sign up through the box office to secure one of the limited spots. We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm for registration.
Participants will be learning to make the Stroppel Cane in this workshop. A colourful, foolproof cane, then they will be creating a pendant and keychain.
