SEA THE MUSIC, featuring The Shantymen, will bring an evening of song and entertainment to the Astor stage on Saturday, September 28 at 7pm. This performance will include the newly formed women’s choir, Sea Soul Sisters, and the well-known voices of Warren Dobson and Dick Henneberry.
The Shantymen are a group of sailors who sing Sea Shanties throughout their seaside communities, often supporting fundraising and special events.
The Sea Soul Sisters, directed by Ashley-Rose Goodwin and accompanied by Alison Williams, are a small group of local women ranging in age from fourteen to eighty-three, singing for the love of music and community.
This production is a Winds of Change fundraiser for the Mersey Rose Theatre Company production of “Alice in Wonderland” to be staged at West Queens Recreation Center in November.
“Sea the Music” promises to delight the audience with favorite tunes and shanties, all in the service of supporting the young people of Queens County.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students.
