The Astor Arts Centre
The Astor Arts Centre, formerly the Town Hall Arts & Cultural Centre, is a national historic site that was originally the Liverpool Town Hall from 1902-1996. Today it serves as a beautiful art gallery and exhibition space, vibrant venue for cultural and community programs, and a much-loved gathering place.
The Arts Centre houses the Gorham Room (the former council chambers), box office, galleries, meeting rooms, concessions, gift shop, and staff and volunteer offices, as well as the flagship Astor Academy. The Astor Theatre, Nova Scotia’s oldest continuously running performing arts theatre, is accessible through a shared hallway.
Its iconic façade and stunning interior with coffered ceilings and one of the original vault doors, grand split staircase, beautiful woodwork, light-filled rooms, and a bar, make it an ideal rental location for private events and functions.
